Bikeability Programme Administrator

We are currently seeking to appoint a Bikeability Programme Administrator to work as part of the Cycle North Management team based in Headingley, Leeds.

​

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual, ideally educated to degree level or equivalent, who is committed to cycling, with excellent communication and presentation skills. Preferably with experience of working with schools and local authorities and other relevant partners. You will also be very enthusiastic about the role and cycling, have the ability to motivate others, and be confident in using office IT applications and social media.

Salary and employment conditions

 

  • This is a full-time position comprising 36 hours per week, over 5 days.

  • The position is also suitable for job-share comprising 20 hours per week over 3 days.

  • The salary will be £25,600 - £28,215 pro rata - dependent on experience.

  • There is a 6 month probationary period.

Job Description

 

Purpose

 

To support and develop the Bikeability training and cycling activities programme in West and South Yorkshire for Cycle North. Initially working closely with the Cycle North Development Manager and existing School Liaison Administrator.

 

Key Job Tasks

 

  • Management and administration of the Cycle North Bikeability programme, including taking bookings, liaising with schools and instructors, and working closely with the Cycle North Training Manager and Council partners.  

  • Develop and expand our work with schools and other organisations in West and South Yorkshire.

 

 

Additional administration responsibilities

 

  • Support the Training Manager with the day to day administration of the Bikeability schemes.

  • Managing social media content

  • Keep accurate records of all communications and tracking of information in databases and spreadsheets.

  • Maintain records and paperwork relating to training delivery  

  • Taking responsibility for resolving problems where they occur.

  • Collating feedback and information on delivery performance.

  • Support instructors by ensuring they have all necessary information and resources to run training, activities and events effectively.

  • Assist with checking of invoices and associated financial record keeping.

  • Liaise with schools and instructors to organise training courses

 

 

Person Specification

 

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate they possess the following:

 

Skills and attributes

 

  • Be a positive, energetic and optimistic person who can work well in a small team and can create and develop positive working relationships with a wide variety of staff and clients.        

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with good attention to detail

  • A strong background in education and/or youth development

  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to work to time, quality and budget

  • The ability to work as a team to achieve excellent and innovative cycle training solutions

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • The ability to work with and motivate instructors to support their training work  

  • Excellent organisational abilities including maintaining records and working with spreadsheets to manage budgets.

  • Knowledge and experience of managing and delivering projects to deliver outputs and achieve successful outcomes 

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent through work experience

  • Ability and expertise with common office software packages

  • Good reporting skills and ability to make presentations and run workshops        

 

Experience

  • Experience of working in schools setting

  • Experience of working with local authorities.

  • Knowledge and experience of providing support for education and training programmes.

 

Special Knowledge & Skills

  • Interest in cycling.

  • Knowledge of Bikeability and national standard cycle training

         

Other Requirements

  • Act on own initiative and take responsible decisions        

  • Willingness to work flexible hours on occasion and to travel as required within West and South Yorkshire.  

  • A full clean driving licence is desirable.

 

Job Dimensions

The post holder will be responsible to the Cycle Training Manager and General Manager.
