Training suspended due to Covid 19
With the first confirmed case of Covid 19 in a Leeds primary school we’ve had to make the decision to suspend all our activities in schools from Monday the 23rd of March. We will be stopping all Bikeability training in Leeds, Sheffield and Wakefield. This closure will be for an initial 2 week period, but this is under constant review and updates will appear here when we know when training will re-start.
Holiday Learn-to-Ride sessions planned for the Easter holidays are also cancelled.
If you are a confident cyclist, and you'd like the chance to share your enthusiasm with the next cycling generation, we might have the opportunity for you!
Due to our expansion Sheffield, Wakefield and Leeds we are looking for new team members to deliver the national Bikeability programme in local schools. No previous experience of teaching cycling is necessary, but previous experience working in education, or with age 10 - 12yrs children, is a definite advantage. Being a parent counts!
The work is flexible and generally term-time only. The pay is competitive and staff are entitled to travel expenses, paid holiday, pension and sick pay.
Applicants for this role will be subject to DBS checks.

Cycle North wins the 2019 to 2021 Leeds Bikeability Contract.
I’m pleased to announce that Leeds City Council has chosen Cycle North to provide cycle training across the city until at least 2021.
It was a tough competition, but our impressive delivery figures, consistently excellent feedback from schools, and our good reputation with the council meant that we scored top marks for quality. Thank you to our professional and hardworking team of instructors!
“The Bikeability staff are fabulous, very patient and supportive with the children. The children from all the year groups who access Bikeability (Yrs 1, 5 & 6) really enjoy the sessions.” Claire, West End Primary
New identity for Cycle Leeds / Cycle North
Until December 2018 we were Cycle North in Sheffield and Wakefield (with an orange logo), and Cycle Leeds in Leeds (with a green logo).
It all got a bit complicated, so now we are just Cycle North all over the region.
Simplicity feels good!
Rest assured, this is just a name change and the same experienced team will continue to deliver quality cycle training throughout the region.
Cycling Activity Days
Thanks to a collaboration with home builders, Redrow Homes, we've recently been working several local schools running cycling activity days. Pupils have been enjoying a taste of cyclocross and also learning how to fix their bikes.
