Cycle Training Instructors (Bikeability)
Based in Leeds, Sheffield, or Wakefield
Rate £11.50 per hour (plus holiday pay)

Cycle North is the leading cycle training provider in Yorkshire, and we work in schools and public venues to train thousands of children and adults every year.
Working as part of the instructor team your principal activity responsibility will be the delivery of high quality Bikeability courses to school pupils in Leeds, Sheffield and/or Wakefield. You will be part of a dynamic, friendly team and will also have the opportunity to work with adults from learn-to-ride to advanced city cycling levels.
We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic individuals who are competent cyclists and keen to work with young people.
We will accept applications from both qualified and non-qualified instructors. Non-qualified instructors will be required to complete Cycle North’s National Standard Instructor Training course. There is a fee to attend the course but we can offer you an ‘Earn Back Scheme’ for the course at a cost of £100 (inc vat) with no further fees to pay, but with a lower probationary pay rate for a fixed period. The next scheduled course runs from Monday 26th to Friday 30th April.
Applicants will need to possess:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Good bike riding skills - confident riding in traffic on urban roads
A willingness to continue to improve your own performance
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
It will be an advantage if you have:
Experience of working with young people (Being a parent counts!)
Experience delivering Cycle and Road Safety initiatives
Experience coaching cycling or other sports
Cycle maintenance skills and/or qualifications
Work will be offered on a flexible, part time basis. Bikeability training is term time only, but there will be substantial opportunities for evening, weekend and school holiday work with both adults and children. Bikeability work will normally be within the school day (8.45am to 3.30pm)
